Materials & care
Inspect the route water takes.
Before planting, locate the drain hole or tray. Check the round planter’s removable plug and the tall planter’s drainage fitting. Do not assume a closed plug makes a container a certified watertight vessel. Protect paving and furniture from runoff; remove standing water promptly.
Clean the material you actually bought.
Powder-coated steel benefits from gentle washing and complete drying, not scouring. Fiberstone and fiber-reinforced cement need supported handling and protection from heat shock. The tall entry model is polyethylene: its stone color does not make it stone. Move planters empty and lift from the base.
Respect the flame.
Use candle lanterns on a stable nonflammable surface, clear of foliage and other combustibles. Use only a candle that fits the stated chamber. The small garden lantern has a 3 × 3 × 5 in chamber; the wide pillar lantern has a 5 × 5 × 9 in chamber. Candles are separate purchases. Never leave a flame unattended; allow the frame and glass to cool before touching or moving.
Keep battery compartments dry.
The low-frame LED takes 3 AA batteries; the hanging battery model takes 2 AA batteries. Neither includes batteries. Use only in sheltered temporary outdoor settings, then switch off and bring indoors. Do not immerse an electrical base or spray it with a hose. Wipe with a dry cloth, remove batteries for long storage and do not mix old and new cells.
A simple end-of-season check.
Empty and clean the planter, let it dry and store without trapped water. Inspect hooks, glass, feet and removable parts before the next use. Stop using an object with cracked glass, a distorted hook or damaged electrical base and contact us with the product name and order reference. Do not attempt to use decorative handles as structural fittings.
